Alright folks, gather ‘round! Gather ‘round and prepare your stomachs for a culinary journey of epic proportions! I’ve just stumbled upon something so magnificent, so gastronomically astounding, that I had to share it immediately. We’re talking about a Binging with Babish experience, but without the, uh, *experiencing* part of having to watch me fail miserably in the kitchen. (Don’t tell Andrew, I’m sure he’s a great cook…on camera.)
Binging with Babish Book Launch Magic!
Feast your eyes on this beauty. I bet this cover is more interesting than your last food.
Now, I don’t know about you, but that image just screams “deliciousness awaits!” Or maybe it’s screaming because I’m hungry. Either way, I’m suddenly craving something incredibly complex and requiring at least three different types of obscure kitchen equipment.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the recipe from the book (yet, I’m working on it!), but I can give you all a recipe from one of the many episodes Andrew has created. Let’s cook up the perfect burger, fit for a king - or at least someone with a serious burger addiction.
The Babish Burger: A Culinary Masterpiece (Probably)
This isn’t your average backyard burger, folks. We’re going gourmet! (Or at least, as gourmet as a burger can get without involving tiny spoons and foams.) Buckle up, because we’re about to embark on a patty-licious adventure!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend is your friend)
- 4 brioche buns (because regular buns are for plebians)
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese (or your cheese of choice, I’m not your boss)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (full-fat, obviously)
- 2 tbsp ketchup (don’t cheap out on me!)
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard (the classic choice)
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish (essential for that tangy kick)
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced (because raw onions are a burger’s best friend)
- Lettuce and tomato (for health…or something)
- Salt and pepper to taste (don’t be shy!)
Instructions:
- First, the sauce! In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and relish. Mix well and set aside. This is your secret weapon, people. Guard it with your life! (Or, you know, just put it in the fridge.)
- Now, for the patties! Gently form the ground beef into four equal-sized patties. Don’t overwork the meat, or you’ll end up with tough burgers. Nobody wants that. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remember, a little pink is perfectly acceptable (unless you’re pregnant, then cook ’em well done, just to be safe).
- In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese. Let it melt and get all gooey and delicious.
- While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the brioche buns. This will prevent them from getting soggy under the weight of all that juicy goodness.
- Assemble the burgers! Spread a generous amount of the secret sauce on the bottom bun. Add lettuce, tomato, and sliced onion. Top with the cheesy patty and the top bun.
- Serve immediately and prepare for a burger-induced food coma. You’ve earned it!
There you have it, folks! A Binging with Babish-inspired burger that will make you the envy of all your friends (and maybe even Andrew himself). Now go forth and conquer the kitchen! And don’t forget to send me pictures of your creations. I need to live vicariously through your culinary adventures.
