Now, let’s make something tasty. How about a simple, yet satisfying, Chicken and Vegetable Stir-Fry? Easy to make, good for you, and tastes fantastic. Yes?
Chicken and Vegetable Stir-Fry
Okay, listen carefully. Here is what you need:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup snap peas
- 1/2 cup carrots, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (more for taste)
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions:
- First, we marinate the chicken. In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. This makes the chicken nice and tender.
- While the chicken marinates, prepare all your vegetables. Wash them, chop them, make them ready to go. Have everything organized, make cooking easier, yes?
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Make sure it’s nice and hot.
- Add the marinated chicken to the wok and stir-fry until it’s cooked through and lightly browned. About 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the wok and set aside.
- Add the onion, garlic, and ginger to the wok and stir-fry for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Don’t burn the garlic, okay?
- Add the bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas, and carrots to the wok and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are tender-crisp. You want them still have a little bite, not mushy.
- Return the cooked chicken to the wok.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sugar, and chicken broth or water.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly and everything is heated through.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. More soy sauce if you like it saltier, a little more sugar if you like it sweeter.
- Serve hot over cooked rice. Enjoy!
There you have it! Simple, delicious, and good for you. Share with your family, share with your friends. Make them happy, yes? Now go and cook, make good food, enjoy your life! Hokay?
